Accountability/COMPASS/LEADS
Information about Appraise, Compass and CIS (Compass Information System) is located on this page.
For teachers, counselors, librarians and leaders who will be evaluated using the new Compass program:
Compass Library (comprehensive sets of links to resources, reports, etc.)
Instructions (using Appraise, registering on the CIS site, entering SLTs in CIS)
Locked out of CIS? First, try clicking "Forgot Personal Login Code" or "Forgot Password." If trouble persists, contact the LSDVI CIS Administrator, who can re-set deactivated accounts.
More information can be found on the Louisiana Department of Education website, including the rubrics, sample Student Learning Targets (SLTs), informational and instructional videos, etc.
According to the Performance Evaluation System established for evaluation of LSDVI teachers and administrators LSDVI evaluates teachers, counselors and librarians in three major areas:
Professional Practice
Student Achievement (SLTs or VAM)
Professional Conduct
Ratings from 1-4 are calculated for all areas/components. The rating scale is:
Ineffective (1.0-1.4)
Effective: Emerging (1.5-2.4)
Effective: Proficient (2.5-3.4)
Highly Effective (3.5-4.0)
Documentation of the first two components, Professional Practice and Student Achievement, is in the Compass Information System (CIS). The third component, Professional Conduct, is based on "non-Compass" criteria which are listed on each school's "Full Faculty Evaluation Attachment" document. See below for links to these documents.
This "Attachment" is an Excel file which combines the Compass components and the Professional Conduct criteria and calculates an overall rating. For each person who is evaluated in Compass, one of these Excel documents will be completed, printed, scanned to PDF and attached to the employee's Appraise profile.
