SSD Board Statement on Recent Personnel Changes

SSD Board Statement on Personnel Changes at Louisiana School for the Deaf
Posted on 10/21/2022

Dear SSD Community,

Over the past week, the Louisiana Special School District Board of Directors received an outpouring of concern regarding recent personnel changes within the District related to the Louisiana School for the Deaf.  As you all know, although the Board is responsible for employment decisions related to the Superintendent of the District, the Board does not engage in employment decisions for employees or administrators of LSD or any other program overseen by SSD.

The Board is monitoring the situation, however, due to privacy laws, we cannot discuss specific details of situations involving employees. That being said, we want to reassure you that all steps are and will be taken to ensure that students at Louisiana School for the Deaf, Louisiana School for the Visually Impaired, and all Special School Programs are provided the opportunities for a meaningful education to which they are entitled.

We thank you for entrusting your child(ren) to the SSD and continuing to be our partner in their education.

Sincerely,

SSD Board of Directors
