The LIMC maintains a depository from which it provides eligible registered patrons with Braille and large print texts and other educational materials in a cost-effective, timely manner. The IMC also provides items available from the American Printing House for the Blind: specialized paper for Braille and large print users, educational kits and learning tools for the visually impaired, and professional publications and guides for teachers of the visually impaired.

LA-AEM’s Instructional Material Center is here to support students who are blind or visually impaired. We offer many services that support students, teachers, and their families.

The instructional Materials Center team was busy during the 2020-21 school year. Our team processed 379 material requests this past year.  These requests contained 3736 items for textbooks, educational materials, and equipment. We create brail2c1le and 2c1large print books at the center. This year we produced 626 braille books and 939 large print books.
